BRIEF HISTORY
On October 19, 1719, Dipaculao was founded as a mission village (Mision de San Miguel) by Fray Sebastian de la Madre de Dios to christianize the Ilongots.
In November 1901, Governor Colonel Cornelius Gardener annexed both Mision de San Miguel (Dipaculao) and Mision de San Jose de Casecnan (Maria Aurora) to the Province of Tayabas (now Quezon).
On Nov. 27, 1950, Dipaculao became a municipality under Executive Order No. 375 signed by President Elpidio R. Quirino.
Anacleto V. Mijares was the appointed mayor who served from 1950 to 1951 and Juan C. Roque, the first elected mayor from 1952 to 1956.
